Digging out roots...

Common knowledge to hear someone complain about the situation, education, systems, life, etc everyday; what's uncommon is to see how easily we have forgotten our roots. Buried deep beneath thick layers of fake decorum, make-up and highly accented English lies rich history of OUR land. We cherish the borrowed cultures and traditions too much to forget our own. Learning is as vital to life as breathing however learning to forget makes us one diverse bunch of people. How many of us still remember why we get a holiday on March, 23rd... but we celebrate Valentine's Day... How many of us know our lovely national songs but we know all Bollywood songs by heart. Here is our basic problem. We "Pakistanis" have not the slightest idea of the essence of Pakistan. We are lost in the double standards, disparities and hypocrisy of our society. If our country doesn't matter to us any more I don't think any of us have the right to criticize it either.

What we need to change is ourselves before we can change our nation. We make the nation, and as of now we are falling short of our own expectations. To expect for our nation to be great and organized we need to be that ourselves too. We are a part of those people who strived for an independent state, of those who fought against Indians and Afghans on the border, of those who won the world cup in 1992, of those who scored highest marks through out the world, of those who are still striving to make this country a better place. Our efforts are all that we would see in our country good or bad. Let's make our efforts worthwhile.

Proud to be Pakistani! :D

"If we want to make this great State of Pakistan happy and prosperous we should wholly and solely concentrate on the well-being of the people..."
Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah

I ponder upon the before and the after, the past and the present to understand what we have come to. The real root of our reality is not defined and I believe it can not be defined. We faltered in faith and unity, brotherhood and humanity only to achieve personal gain. But in our utter blindness we forgot what damage we were doing to our nation and to our future. Now should we blame our suffering only upon our leaders? The power is within ourselves to change for the better and make our nation strong and prosperous.
This blog is dedicated to those who strive for the change, and is for those who are still struggling to understand.

About Me

My photo
I'm mind full of explosions of peace, colours of youth and the sounds of the silence. My only hope is to rest my conscience and the multiple contradictions of thought.. :) What can i say... I am the dormant maniac.
